Sometimes you don’t know where all your quirky little traits are leading you until your destination smacks you right in the face. So, what happens when you combine an empathetic perfectionist, an endless dreamer, a natural teacher, a “professional student,” and a language enthusiast?
You get Elle: founder, owner, and operator of EditElle – Writing & Editing Services.
Elle was a certified figure skating coach for 6 years, has been teaching dance for 11 years, and has dabbled in countless other professions while trying to figure out where else she truly belongs. University helped Elle journey through linguistics, English, French, Spanish, psychology, neuroscience . . . we could be here all day . . . but needless to say nothing really stuck until she tripped and fell head first into editing.
EditElle opened its metaphorical doors in May 2018 with a trusty sidekick in a copy of The Chicago Manual of Style, a membership to Editors Canada, and a whole lot of gumption. In less than a year, Elle has been downright giddy to work with authors across the globe: New Zealand, UK, Australia, Africa, USA, the Czech Republic, and Canada.
Two things are certain when you hire Elle—she will immediately care for your book nearly as much as you do, and she will be relentless in helping you make your book into what you want it to be. Each book and each author needs to be approached as an individual, and Elle will give you and your work the personalized attention that it deserves.
Elle works from home with two small children, two very large dogs, an amazing chef (er—husband), and lots of coffee.
